Bruges

bruges

Bruges is an UNESCO World Heritage Site and it’s easy to see why with its grandiose buildings, scenic canals, and cobbled streets. In the late middle ages Bruges was once one of the wealthiest cities in the world as a result of trading. It is a fascinating place to wonder around with it’s various squares, canals at what seems like every street corner, boats motoring under the stone bridges, and people sitting outside cafes eating Moule Frites!

On our second day we travel to Ghent. Also dating from medieval times it has larger canals and squares than Bruges with many fine stone buildings lining the canal side - walk through the city taking in the atmosphere, visit the Botanical Gardens or Modern Art Museum, or explore the shopping area.

The South Downs: Villages and Countryside

swanage south downs

The South Downs: Villages and Countryside (1/2 day or full day)

Rolling countryside, unspoilt landscapes and far reaching views are hall marks of The South Downs. Nestled within this landscape are traditional villages and small market towns that are little changed at their core. The South Downs National Park stretches for 100 miles between Winchester and Eastbourne and this trip explores some of the lessor known and beautiful countryside in the Hampshire and West Sussex end of the Downs. This tour gives you an insight into the landscape and character of The South Downs and of the villages and towns within. This relatively unknown National Park has many beautiful vistas and unsurpassable countryside and gives an indication of life in a by-gone age. There are options to stop at various places depending on your interests.

All tour itineraries can be adjusted to suit your requirements.

A half day tour is available and covers part of the above itinerary either Winchester to Petersfield, returning via Chawton and Alresford, or Meon Valley and Petersfield to Goodwood, Petworth.

Typical Timing

Depart from your pick up place 8:30/9am to arrive in Winchester around 10am. Return journey departs the area at 5pm (or to suit your own itinerary).
